As far as I know nobody's seen a list on FMP/Ancestry with a name that pertains to the service file. The NF ones do the complete opposite and specifically include a copy of the list in the man's file.

My fathers details are accurately transcribed on the FMP site but on Ancestry his forename has changed from William to Lillian, and his date of birth of 1918 has been (thanks to Ancestry) transcribed as 1878

Not sure how often but I would not be surprised if we're talking annually, whereas FMP, having the raw materials, as it were, can be faster with their un-redactions.
