After the squad got completely irradicated by injuries, it opened up a spot for Thapelo to play, luckily he performed well and is starting to make a name for himself on one of the best SA academies.On this video we take a look at his performances with the national team in the Cosafa Cup, that sadly underperformed, Thapelo still produced some satisfying football.Old fashioned winger who plays as wide as possible, looks to get the ball and explode, nimble and incredibly pacy, fast footwork and good 1v1 potential, Thapelo will tire his defenders out pretty quickly with his frenetic playstyle. Unfortunately very one footed, if he plays on the right wing he will find ways of cutting inside and produce a bit of mayhem in the opponents defence, but it forced outside, he is basicly useless; if he plays on the left he is forced to cross or play backwards, luckily since he's very fast he can lose his marker pretty easily.His off the ball is very disapointing tho, always being the widest man but not doing much besides that, ocasionally he does some interesting blindsided runs like the one on minute 2:08, altough very simple, and considering that in his current play level it is effective, it's not good enough to go to the next level.Not a good decider yet, resorts to instinct and fast reflexes, you still see him attempting to view the whole pitch while on the ball, so, along with his surprisingly good first touch even tough he can be clumsy while dribbling, I think he has the right techincals to succed in South Africa.#ThapeloMaseko #cosafacup #SuperSportunited #southafrica #bafanabafana #dstvpremiership #scouting
