Lets rewind back to the last match of the 2018 season between Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo and Sanfrecce Hiroshima when these two were fighting for an ACL spot. The game started off well for the host as Chanathip and Jay Bothroyd scored for the team to make it 2-0 but the away team pulled one back from Kazuaki Mawatari ended the score with 2-1 going into half-time. The home team needed the score to stay that way to win the ticket to the ACL but a goal from Kosei Shibasaki ended Hokkaido Consadole Sapporos dreams of making it to the ACL.
